Golden Turmeric Ginger Iced Tea

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Brewing Time:
3-5 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 Planet Organic Turmeric Ginger Tea bags
  • 4 cups of boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons of honey, or maple syrup to taste (optional)
  • Juice of 1 large lemon
  • Ice cubes
  • A few sprigs of fresh mint (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • A pinch of Black or Cayenne pepper (to activate the turmeric)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by steeping the Turmeric Ginger Tea bags in boiling water. Allow them to infuse for about 3-5 minutes, or until the water takes on a rich, golden colour.

  2. Remove the tea bags and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm. This helps it dissolve thoroughly, sweetening your drink naturally. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

  3. Once cooled, add the fresh lemon juice to the tea and stir well. The lemon not only adds a refreshing tang but also enhances the absorption of turmeric's active compound, curcumin.

  4. To serve, fill glasses to the brim with ice cubes. Strain the tea into the glasses, ensuring an even distribution of the golden liquid.

  5. Sprinkle a pinch of Black or Cayenne pepper into each glass. This might seem like an unusual addition, but black pepper is known to significantly boost the bioavailability of curcumin.

  6. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon on the rim of each glass for that extra touch of elegance and an additional pop of flavor.

  7. Stir gently before serving to mix the flavours and enjoy the invigorating qualities of this golden iced tea.

This Golden Turmeric Ginger Iced Tea is not only a delight to the senses with its vibrant colour and bold flavours but also an asset to your health, making it the perfect start to your morning, or refreshing digestive aid for any summer day.
