Warm Herbal Tea for fighting Colds and Flus

Preparation Time: 5-7 minutes
Brewing Time:
4-5 minutes
Servings:
1

Ingredients:

  • 1 Planet Organic Immunitea Tea Bag
  • 1 cup of freshly boiled water
  • 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey
  • Juice of half a lemon (Freshly squeezed orange juice would also work well here!)
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)
  • A small slice of fresh ginger (optional)

Method:

  1. Steep the Tea: Begin by placing your Immunitea Tea Bag in a mug. Pour the freshly boiled water over the tea bag and let it steep for 4-5 minutes. This extended steeping time allows for the full extraction of the therapeutic properties from the herbs.

  2. Add Manuka Honey: While the tea is still warm, stir in a tablespoon of Manuka honey. Manuka honey is renowned for its antibacterial properties and can be particularly soothing for sore throats.

  3. Lemon for Vitamin C: Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. Lemon juice is high in Vitamin C, which is essential for the proper function of the immune system and can also provide a refreshing tang to the brew.

  4. Optional Add-ins: For an extra warming effect, add a pinch of ground cinnamon and a small slice of fresh ginger to the mug. Both are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and can help to alleviate symptoms of a cold.

  5. Let it Blend: Allow all the ingredients to infuse together for an additional 2-3 minutes. The warmth will activate the ginger and cinnamon, releasing their full flavours and benefits.

  6. Enjoy: Sip this healing brew slowly, letting the warmth and the herbal benefits soothe your throat and calm your symptoms. Drink up to three times a day for maximum benefit during cold and flu season.
